Anti-Wrinkle Injections & Dermal Fillers
Eliminate wrinkles and let your smile shine!
At Australia Fair Dental we are committed to providing our patients with the highest level of care for a large range of services. As a result a number of our dentists have undergone extensive studies in the areas of anti-wrinkle injectables and dermal fillers. This has allowed them to gain extensive knowledge of the facial anatomy as well as sound experience in injectable techniques. All with the aim to help our patients achieve a radiant smile.
There is often a misconception about anti-wrinkle injections, with many believing that you will lose all facial expression. However at Australia Fair Dental this is not the case. Anti-wrinkle injections are a safe and well-known method for softening and removing crows feet, fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in patients achieving a natural, youthful appearance.
Anti-wrinkle injections consist of high-quality proteins that are administered through the skin and into your facial muscles with the use of fine needles. The injectables work by blocking the nerve impulses and reducing the activity of the muscle fibres. The reduced activity relaxes the muscle which allows the fine lines and wrinkles to soften and become less visible. The procedure usually takes less than 30 minutes and is relatively pain-free.
Most patients will see result take effect within 3-14 days and result will typically last for 3 to 6 months.
Over time our skin produces less hyaluronic acid and begins to loose volume. This is one of the most noticeable signs of ageing. Dermal fillers are made up of hyaluronic gel, which attracts water to the area of the injection site creating plumpness. This helps to create a more youthful appearance by restoring volume and plumping out facial lines. Dermal fillers can also be used in conjunction with anti-wrinkles injections as they have no relaxant properties.
What is involved?
During your initial consultation you and your Australia Fair Dental team member will discuss the reasons why you are looking to get dermal fillers as well as any questions or concerns you may have. From here they will assess your medical history and undertake a facial assessment. This will allow them to determine whether you would be an appropriate candidate for dermal fillers as well as develop a personalised treatment plan that will suit your needs. While dermal fillers are safe and are made of a natural material, they may not be a suitable option for everyone. If you are pregnant, nursing or have a skin disease in the area, you may not be a suitable candidate.
Once your assessment is complete, your dentist will numb the area with a numbing cream to help reduce any discomfort and then administer the filler with a tiny needle. Ice is then applied to the area to help reduce swelling and bruising.
Treatment is normally completed in 30 to 60 minutes and you will be able to return to your normal routine afterwards. Immediately after treatment it is normal to experience some side effects including swelling, redness, tenderness or itching. Applying ice to the area with help to ease any discomfort and reduce any swelling or bruising. However it is also recommended that you avoid strenuous activities, alcohol consumption, exposure to extreme temperatures and extended exposure to UV light.
Results will vary from patient to patient depending on the area treated, choice of filler and how fast your body absorbs the filler; however for most people results will last for 6 to 12 months.
