The process

With porcelain veneers, the process requires shaving down the natural teeth in preparation for the veneers. The teeth are shaped in a way that will allow the veneers to be placed on top and look as natural as possible. 

Generally, if patients were to experience any discomfort it is during the shaping process. The beauty of porcelain veneers is that only a very small reduction is needed to accomplish the goal and more than often, the patient experiences no pain in the process at all. Once the teeth are shaped, the veneers are positioned in place and cemented. This process generally takes 2 appointments with the veneers lasting up to twenty years with proper professional treatment and good oral hygiene. 

The whole experience of receiving veneers is very dependant on the person and the procedure. Receiving 4 veneers would be more comfortable than someone undergoing treatment for all of their teeth and the extent of reshaping can have an effect on the patient also.
